Passports that are issued to minors are not the same as those for adults and cannot be renewed as of such. Your current passport must have also been issued within the last 15 years. Those that are older than that will need to be replaced with a first time U.S. passport as though they have never had a previous passport. Finally, the passport must not be damaged.
